The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

“The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” is one of the more recent rides to open in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.  It opened in June 1999 and can be found near Cinderella’s Castle in Fantasyland.  The ride was a replacement for the former “Mr Toad’s Wild Ride” and if you look closely you can see a picture, hanging on the wall, of Mr Toad handing over the deeds to Owl.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

The journey begins as you wait in line; so make sure you take time to read from the huge pages of the Winnie the Pooh books that decorate the entrance.  Your mode of transport is an enormous honey pot that is dripping with honey (not real honey, I hasten to add!).  These brightly coloured, imaginative vehicles will seat up to four guests.

The ride begins as you enter the Hundred Acre Wood and everyone from Pooh’s gang is there to greet you; Piglet, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Christopher Robin and not forgetting everyone’s favourite, Tigger.  Be careful that you don’t get blown away as it’s a “Blustery Day” inside!  A rainstorm breaks out and with the waters rising everyone must join together to save Piglet from the Floody Place Falls.

Suddenly, your honey pot begins to bounce along as you learn “The wonderful thing about Tiggers” and as you enter the peculiar world of Heffalumps and Woozles, during one of Pooh’s dreams, everyone must help to stop them stealing the honey.

Your honey pot wends its way around the woods with special effects, fiber optic lighting and music, all playing a large part in the entertainment.  Smell the honey as you exit the ride and also as you walk through the gift shop on your way out.

If you have small children with you, be aware that there is a small thunderstorm during your journey.

A Fast pass is a must!  The lines for this very popular attraction can be up to an hour or even two hours during holiday periods.  As the ride, in its entirety, is only about three minutes, a wait of over an hour is just too long.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Opposite the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a play area called Pooh’s Playful Spot.  Here you will find a splash area called “Floody Place”, a “Pooh Sticks Bridge” and a huge honey pot which leads to Rabbit’s garden.  Plenty of seating areas have been provided for the adults.
