Coral Reef Restaurant
If you fancy a unique, one of a kind dining experience whilst you are in Walt Disney World’s Epcot, head over to the Living Seas in Future World. It is here that you will find the Coral Reef Restaurant. Don’t enter the Living Seas pavilion but walk to the far right-hand side to begin your culinary adventure beneath the sea.

It is advisable to make priority reservations, as the restaurant is very popular. Both lunch and dinner are served in the Coral Reef. As you would expect the speciality on the menu is seafood but for those of you that are not feeling in a fishy mood there are several alternatives, including steak and chicken.
Everything is freshly cooked and some of the choices on the menu include lobster, tuna, salmon, shrimps and dolphin. And before you start to worry - this is not Flipper the mammal! Dolphin fish, also known as Mahi Mahi, is found in the warm waters around Florida and along the Pacific Coast and is delicious. |
| Apart from the wonderful food, the attraction is the restaurant itself. The tables are set up on three tiers so that everyone in the restaurant has a good view. Glass panels, eight feet high, fifty feet long and in excess of eight inches thick offer guests a magnificent view of the world’s biggest man-made saltwater environment. Eighty-five different species of fish, brown shark, rays and even a green-sea turtle swim around whilst diners gaze in wonder at the spectacle. On every table is a small leaflet, which gives the name and a picture of some of the fish in the tank. The fun is to try and spot as many of them as you can. |

If there are young children in your party this is certainly one way to keep them amused until their food arrives. The Coral Reef has an excellent kid’s menu.

On several occasions, when we have dined in The Coral Reef Restaurant, there have been divers in the tank. They will almost always swim alongside the windows and wave to the diners. And if you are really lucky you might even see Mickey in his diving suit!
A word of warning though, the prices in the Coral Reef are quite expensive compared to some of the other table-service restaurants in Epcot. But as you don’t get the opportunity very often of dining with sharks and Caribbean reef fish, I would recommend that you try it at least once during your holiday. You never know, you may enjoy it so much that you want to visit again. |
