Bahama Breeze

One of our favourite restaurants in the Orlando area is called Bahama Breeze and a visit to Florida wouldn’t be the same without at least one meal at this Caribbean themed restaurant.  There are two locations in Orlando, one is on International Drive and the other on Vineland Avenue.

Coconut shrimp, Bahama Breeze At certain times they can be extremely busy due to its popularity with the locals and holidaymakers alike.  One way to avoid a really long wait is to call ahead.  This does not mean that you have a reservation at a certain time but it does add your name to the waiting list.  On telephoning the restaurant you will be informed of how long the waiting time is and your name will be added to the list.  This means that part of your wait will be taken up whilst you are travelling to the restaurant.Orlando Villa Orange Tree Vacation Home

The restaurant has an inside and outside seating area featuring live music in an evening and has a good family atmosphere.  The menu is varied with plenty of choice for even the most discerning diner and all at very reasonable prices.

I always start my meal off at Bahama Breeze with a cocktail, two of my favourites being the Bahama Mama (freshly squeezed orange juice, pineapple juice, banana liquor, Malibu and rum) or their Ultimate Piña Colada with a special twist—swirled with strawberry ice and topped with Myers’s Dark Rum.

For starters my choice would be the Barbecue Chicken Flatbread.  This is served on a thin and crispy herb-cheese crust with roasted peppers , grilled red onions, bacon, sweet and smokey guava barbecue sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Ultimate Pina Colada, Bahama Breeze

One of my favourite entrees is their Margarita Chicken (chicken breast marinated in lemon, lime and honey with a splash of Tequila and served with tomato and corn salsa and rice) or the Pan-seared Fresh Fish with orange balsamic drizzle.

Pineapple upside down cake, Bahama Breeze

It is very rarely that I can manage a dessert when dining out but I usually make an exception when eating at Bahama Breeze.  The reason being is their warm chocolate pineapple upside down cake.  A warm rich chocolate cake with chocolate molten center topped with carmelized pineapple, raspberry sauce, butterscotch brandy sauce and fresh whipped cream. Yummy!!

To finish the meal off we usually order coffees with Tia Maria and cream.

My only criticism is that it can get a bit loud especially on a Friday and Saturday evening.  It is for this reason that we tend to visit early on the other five evenings or sometimes for our lunch if we are in the vicinity.  It is, however, well worth the visit.
